Turmerry natural dunlop latex mattress topper - OEKO-TEX certification and GOLS certification - OEKO TEX standard 100

    Trustworthy Certifications

Our latex toppers have earned certifications from trusted institutions, including GOLS, OEKO-TEX, eco-INSTITUT, and LGA - the gold standard for verifying quality and safety.

These certifications mean you're getting latex that's truly organically sourced. They also signal that our organic latex mattress toppers are environmentally friendly, sustainable, and emit low to no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).

At Turmerry, we know that great sleep comes from peace of mind. When you rest on one of our certified latex toppers, you can sleep soundly knowing you've chosen a product that's good for both you and the planet.

Turmerry natural Dunlop latex mattress topper - The Dunlop Process - Stronger than Talalay latex foam & Talalay latex topper

    The Dunlop Process

We make our latex foam using something called the Dunlop process - the most energy-efficient way to create natural latex foam. This method has been around and getting better for over 90 years, and it gives our mattress toppers that nice springy, buoyant feel with solid support underneath.

There's another way to make latex called the Talalay process. Talalay latex mattress toppers can feel softer, but they're less dense than Dunlop latex and use a lot more energy to make.

What we love about Dunlop latex is that it works well for pretty much everyone, no matter how you like to sleep.

Turmerry natural dunlop latex mattress topper - Amazingly affordable prices - Cheaper than buying entire mattress

    Affordable Prices

We know latex mattress toppers can get pretty expensive. The whole process of getting quality latex costs a lot, and that usually gets passed on to the customer. But good sleep shouldn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. That's why we keep our latex toppers within reach for different budgets.

Turmerry believes that great products are meant for everyone. We are dedicated to offering the best prices possible for our customers without compromising on the quality (so beloved by all) in the slightest. That's a promise we intend to keep.

    Topper Care Instructions

Pro-Tip: Turmerry latex mattress toppers are much easier to maintain if protected with an outer cover. The optional cover we provide cannot be washed. We recommend using washable covers, like fitted sheets or waterproof mattress protectors, to make the maintenance process easier for you.

Try these (they fit best!) -

Spot-clean in case of spillage - If you spill anything on the mattress topper, do not wash it in a machine, as it isn't machine washable. All you have to do is obtain a sponge and spot-clean the liquid-stained area with water and mild detergent.

Avoid long-term exposure to sunlight/heat - Our mattress toppers should not be exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Exposure to severe heat above 85 degrees Fahrenheit should also be avoided. As the toppers are made from latex, excessive sunlight or heat can lead to a breakdown in the integrity of the material, reducing the topper's lifespan.

Handle with care - If proper care isn't practiced when handling our toppers, they may rip or tear. Be gentle when taking them out of the packaging; place them with care on your mattress. They may also absorb dust or dirt easily and can be a nightmare to clean if left unprotected (without a cover).

Clean regularly - Vacuum the topper's surface every month or so. Avoid eating and drinking on it, and spot-clean spills/stains immediately. All of these steps can lead to a long-lasting mattress topper.

    Organic Latex Mattress Topper FAQS:

A latex mattress topper is a bedding accessory that's placed on top of your current mattress. It's around 1-4 inches thick, and it's made of latex foam.

Latex comes from the sap of rubber trees – it's a natural material that gets processed into a springy, supportive foam. What makes latex special is that it bounces back quickly when you move, ensuring consistent support and comfort wherever you sleep on it. Additionally, due to its open-cell structure, the material stays cool while you sleep.

As for what a mattress topper actually does – think of it as a comfort layer that changes how your mattress feels. If your mattress is too firm, a topper adds cushioning. If your mattress is too soft, a topper can restore the lost support. Basically, it's an easy way to improve your bed without buying a whole new mattress.

The different types of latex are -

    • Natural Latex
    • Harvested from organically grown rubber trees (Hevea Brasiliensis), this type of latex is naturally processed to create foam layers.

    • Organic Latex
    • Organic latex is natural latex that comes with an organic seal of approval. Latex mattresses that are organic contain ≥95% organic latex, the highest possible standard.

    • Synthetic Latex
    • Made from petroleum-based chemicals such as Styrene-Butadiene Rubber to mimic natural latex. It's usually cheaper but doesn't have the same durability or natural properties as the real thing.

    • Blended Latex
    • A combination of natural latex and synthetic latex. Blended latex mattresses usually contain around 30% natural latex, with the rest being synthetic.

When someone says "latex," they're not necessarily talking about the natural stuff from rubber trees. It could be synthetic, blended, or natural – the term alone doesn't tell you much.

If a product is labeled "organic latex" or "natural latex," don't just take their word for it. Ask to see certifications that prove its purity. Companies that use genuine organic/natural latex are usually happy to display their certifications, as they take pride in the quality.

In short, yes. Latex mattress toppers are well worth their price.

Mattress toppers come in different materials, but latex toppers stand out for good reasons. They breathe better than most other materials, so you stay cooler at night. They also last longer, bounce back when you move, and do a great job of relieving pressure on your body.

Other benefits of latex include not transferring motion to your partner and keeping your bedroom's environment free from chemicals like VOCs.

Latex mattress toppers last much longer than other types of toppers. A good quality latex topper will easily give you 5 years of use, sometimes even longer, with proper care.

The reason they last so long is because latex bounces back to its original shape. Unlike memory foam or fiber toppers that get permanent dips and worn spots over time, latex keeps its shape year after year.

Of course, how long your topper lasts depends on how well you take care of it. Use a mattress protector, rotate it occasionally, air it out once in a while, and keep it clean, and you'll get the most years out of it.

Most people find latex to be the better choice out of the two best mattress toppers.

Memory foam has some well-known problems. It traps body heat, which makes you sleep hot. It can have a chemical smell when new and may release VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Over time, it also loses support and can develop permanent dips.

Latex doesn't have these issues. It stays cool because air flows through it easily. It's made from natural materials, so there's no chemical smell or harmful gases. And it keeps its support for years.

Both materials contour to your body and relieve pressure points. But latex does this while still being responsive - when you move, it bounces back quickly instead of leaving you stuck in a slow-sinking feeling.

Latex toppers typically last 5 years or more, while memory foam toppers often start sagging and losing support after just a few years. So, even though latex costs more upfront, it's usually the better value over time.

For most people, 3 inches works well. It's the recommended thickness level if you're unsure what suits you.

If you're lighter weight (less than 130 lbs.), 2 inches might be enough to get the pressure relief you need. If you're heavier (above 230 lbs.), you'll probably want 4 inches or more for better support.

Keep in mind that thickness also depends on your current mattress. If it's already pretty comfortable, a thinner topper might be all you need. If your mattress is really firm or worn out, go thicker.

No, natural latex actually sleeps cool. The material itself is breathable, which means air can flow through it easily. This helps prevent heat from getting trapped around your body.

Most latex toppers also have small holes punched through them, which adds even more airflow. So if you're someone who usually wakes up hot and sweaty, latex can help solve that problem.

Keep in mind this applies to natural latex. Synthetic latex doesn't breathe as well and might sleep warmer.

Organic latex mattress toppers are not toxic. They're made from natural materials and are often tested for safety by independent parties (like GOLS, OEKO-TEX, eco-INSTITUT) to make sure they're safe to sleep on.

Regular mattress toppers (made from synthetic materials) can contain harmful chemicals from petroleum. These toppers often have a strong chemical smell when you first unpack them, which is a sign of those chemicals releasing into the air.

If you want to avoid toxins, look for certified organic latex toppers. They don't have the chemical additives that synthetic toppers do.

No. Mattress toppers do not require flame retardants. As such, Turmerry mattress toppers don't use any flame retardants - natural or chemical.

Our latex mattresses do, however, use a layer of natural wool as a flame retardant, which is required by federal safety standards. The mattresses are tested to make sure they meet all fire safety requirements.

Since our toppers don't have flame retardants and our mattresses use only natural wool for fire safety, they work well together without adding any synthetic substances to your sleep setup.

Yes, latex mattress toppers work really well for side sleepers. When you sleep on your side, you need something that's soft enough to cushion your shoulder and hip, but firm enough to keep your spine straight.

Latex does both. It's soft enough to relieve pressure on those bony areas that dig into the mattress, but it still gives you the support you need so your spine doesn't sag out of alignment.

This balance is why many side sleepers find latex more comfortable than memory foam (which can be too soft) or firm mattresses alone (which can create pressure points).

For light cleaning: If your topper just needs freshening up, vacuum it with a brush attachment to get rid of dust and debris. Then sprinkle baking soda all over it and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. The baking soda will soak up any odors. Vacuum it up when you're done. Do this monthly to keep your topper fresh.

For spills/stains: Mix a little mild soap (like dish soap or baby shampoo) with warm water. Use a clean cloth or soft sponge to gently clean the stain. Don't scrub hard or get the latex too wet. After cleaning, use a damp cloth with plain water to remove any leftover soap. Then let it air dry completely.

What to avoid: Don't use bleach, ammonia, or other harsh cleaners - they can damage the latex. Never put your topper in the washing machine or dryer either. Latex isn't machine wash friendly, and can tear or lose its shape.

Drying: Always air-dry your topper in a room with good air circulation, but keep it away from direct sunlight and heat. Sun can make latex brittle over time. Lay it flat and make sure both sides dry completely before putting it back on your bed.

Before you store your mattress topper:

    1. Make sure it is clean, aired out, and free of moisture and smell.
    2. Once it's completely dry and odor-free, roll it up. A rolled-up mattress topper is easier to move and saves some space in storage.
    3. Place your rolled-up mattress topper in a protective cover or a cloth bag, something that can protect it from impurities while it's packed away.

You can also use the original packaging your topper came with as a storage bag. If you do not have the original packaging, use a vacuum-sealed storage bag instead. These types of bags may help you save space in storage. Always ensure that your storage bag is clean of any impurities and liquids so that your topper can remain damage-free within it.

Take your latex topper off the mattress and remove any covers. Stand it up in a room with good airflow - don't lay it flat on either side since that blocks air from getting through. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can damage the latex.

Let it air out for a few hours until it's completely dry. Then it's ready to go back on your bed!

To keep your mattress topper from sliding, try using a tightly fitted sheet first - this usually does the trick. If that doesn't work, you can use bedsheet holders or sheet straps to keep everything in place. As a last resort, try putting velcro tape or carpet tape along the edges where the mattress and topper meet.

Toppers usually slide because they're the wrong size for your mattress or they're made from slippery materials. Higher-quality latex toppers have better grip and are less likely to move around during the night. Make sure you get the right size for your mattress too - even an inch off can cause sliding problems.

Yes, you can put two twin XL toppers side by side on a king-size mattress. This works great for couples who want different firmness levels - one person can have firm while the other has soft.

Multiple 2- or 3-inch latex mattress toppers, with varying firmness, when layered upon one another (bottom layer, middle layer, top layer), can be used to create your own DIY Latex Mattress. Just make sure to add a layer of Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified wool or fully natural wool around the mattress topper layers, as it acts as a natural fire retardant.

Once the wool layer is placed, encase the whole thing in a Zippered Mattress Cover (preferably a GOTS-certified organic cotton cover), and voila! You've just created your very own latex mattress out of latex toppers.

GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) Certification makes sure the latex foam has at least 95% certified organic materials. It also checks that the manufacturing follows strict environmental and safety rules.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 confirms the product is free from harmful chemicals and safe for people to use. Every part of the topper - including fabric, thread, and zippers - has to meet these safety standards.

eco-INSTITUT is a German lab that tests for chemical pollutants, VOC emissions, and leftover toxins. Products with the eco-INSTITUT certification are considered very clean and safe for indoor use.

LGA Quality Certification focuses on how well latex holds up over time. It tests whether the material keeps working properly after years of use.

USDA Organic Certification applies to the raw materials used to make natural latex, like rubber tree sap. This label means the trees were grown without synthetic pesticides or chemicals.

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certification guarantees that the rubber trees used for latex come from forests that are managed sustainably and ethically.

Greenguard Gold Certification verifies that the product releases very few chemicals into the air, which helps keep indoor air cleaner. This is especially important for children or people with breathing problems.

Fair Trade Certified ensures that workers who harvest and process natural latex are treated fairly, paid good wages, and work in safe conditions. It also supports community development and sustainable practices in the areas where latex is produced.
